Control search-engine indexing for your public pages

Decide, per profile and per company page, whether SalesMind AI lets search engines list it.

Updated about 2 hours ago

Overview

Every public profile and company page in SalesMind AI has its own search-engine setting. By default a public page is hidden from search engines — it won't appear in Google or other results until an administrator turns indexing on. That lets you decide, page by page, exactly which of your public pages are discoverable in search.

When you'd use this

  • "I want this page to show up in Google." Turn indexing on so search engines can list the profile or company page.
  • "Keep this client out of search results." Leave indexing off (the default) so the page stays out of Google — the link still works, it just isn't listed.
  • "This page isn't ready to be found yet." Keep it hidden while you finish it, then turn indexing on when you're ready.

One setting, two effects

Each public page has a single control — a switch that reads "Indexed by search engines" when it's on and "Hidden from search engines" when it's off. There's no separate sitemap option: SalesMind AI keeps the sitemap in step with this switch automatically.

  • Indexed by search engines (on) — SalesMind AI tells search engines they may list the page, and adds it to your sitemap so they can find it.
  • Hidden from search engines (off — the default) — SalesMind AI tells search engines not to list the page and leaves it out of the sitemap.

Turn indexing on or off

👉 Who can change this: Only a global administrator can switch indexing on or off. The control is hidden for everyone else.

The setting lives directly on each public page — there's no separate "create page" step, because these pages are built from the LinkedIn profiles and companies SalesMind AI already tracks.

  1. Open the public profile or company page you want to change.
  2. Find the search-engine switch on the page (visible to administrators only).
  3. Switch it on to let search engines list the page, or off to hide it.

The setting applies to that page only, so you can make some public pages discoverable while keeping others hidden.

Hiding a page is not the same as making it private

Turning indexing off only affects search engines — it asks Google and others not to list the page. The page stays live, and anyone with the direct link can still open it. There is no separate "make private" or "unpublish" control; if you've already shared a link, hiding the page from search won't take it back.

👉 Good to know: Search engines follow their own schedule. When you turn indexing on, a page won't appear in Google instantly; when you turn it off, a page that's already listed can take some time to drop out. SalesMind AI sends the signal right away, but the timing is up to the search engine.

FAQ

All answers below are [AI-generated] — this is a new feature with no support-ticket history yet.

How do I stop my public profile or company page from showing up in Google? [AI-generated] Make sure indexing is off for that page — the switch should read "Hidden from search engines". New public pages are hidden by default, so if you've never turned indexing on, the page is already kept out of search.

Can I hide just one page and keep my other public pages visible in search? [AI-generated] Yes. The setting is per profile and per company page, so you can index some pages and hide others independently.

If I turn off indexing, does the page still work — can people still open it with the link? [AI-generated] Yes. Hiding a page from search engines doesn't take it offline. Anyone with the direct link can still open it; it just won't be listed in search results.

I turned indexing off, but the page is still showing up in Google — why? [AI-generated] Search engines drop pages on their own schedule after they re-crawl. SalesMind AI sends the "don't list this" signal immediately, but removal from Google's results can take time.

Who is allowed to turn indexing on or off for a profile or company page? [AI-generated] Only a global administrator. The switch is hidden for everyone else.

What's the difference between a page being "indexed" and "hidden"? [AI-generated] "Indexed by search engines" means search engines may list the page and it's included in your sitemap. "Hidden from search engines" means they're asked not to list it and it's left out of the sitemap.

Does turning off indexing also remove the page from the sitemap? [AI-generated] Yes. It's one setting: SalesMind AI keeps the sitemap in step with the switch automatically, so there's nothing separate to change.

Is a new public page indexed by search engines by default, or do I have to turn it on? [AI-generated] A new public page is hidden from search engines by default. Indexing is opt-in — an administrator has to turn it on before the page can appear in search.

Does this setting behave the same way on white-label pages? [AI-generated] Yes. The switch works exactly the same across every SalesMind AI channel, including white-label pages.

How long does it take for my page to disappear from Google after I turn indexing off? [AI-generated] That's up to the search engine. SalesMind AI sends the signal right away, but a page that's already listed can take some time to drop out of results.
