How to Warm Up Your LinkedIn Account

What Is Account Warmup?

LinkedIn monitors account activity patterns. A brand-new or recently restricted account that suddenly sends dozens of connection requests will trigger LinkedIn's safety systems. Warmup is SalesMind AI's built-in feature that gradually increases your daily activity limits over a 14-day period, mimicking natural human behavior so LinkedIn sees your account as trustworthy.

When warmup is active, SalesMind AI automatically:

  • Starts with very low daily limits (5 visits, 5 follows, 2 connections, 5 messages)

  • Increases limits every 4 days in small, random increments

  • Reaches safe maximums by day 14 (60 visits, 60 follows, 25 connections, 100 messages)

  • Auto-accepts incoming connection requests

  • Auto-withdraws pending connection requests after 2 weeks

  • Temporarily disables prospect profile enhancement to reduce activity footprint

When Should You Use Warmup?

  • New LinkedIn accounts — Always warm up before running any outreach campaign

  • Accounts returning from a restriction — LinkedIn is watching closely; ease back in

  • Accounts that have been inactive for weeks — Sudden spikes look suspicious

  • After connecting a new LinkedIn account to SalesMind AI — Start safe, scale later

How to Enable Warmup

  1. Go to Agents in the left sidebar

  2. Click Senders at the top

  3. Click on your LinkedIn account to open its settings

  4. In the General section, check the Warmup checkbox

  5. Click Save

Once enabled, you'll notice that the daily limit sliders (visits, follows, connections, messages) in the Interaction Settings section become locked — this is expected. SalesMind AI is now managing those limits automatically on a progressive schedule.

How to Disable Warmup

  1. Go to AgentsSenders → click your LinkedIn account

  2. In the General section, uncheck the Warmup checkbox

  3. Click Save

After disabling warmup, the daily limit sliders unlock and you can set your own limits manually. We recommend keeping limits within the safe ranges described below.

Account Security Best Practices

1. Use a Complete, Professional Profile

Before starting any outreach, make sure your LinkedIn profile is fully completed:

  • Professional profile photo and banner

  • Compelling headline and summary

  • Complete work experience and education

  • At least 50 existing connections

An incomplete profile combined with automation activity is a red flag for LinkedIn.

2. Use Proxies and Anti-Detect Browsers

For maximum account safety, especially when managing multiple LinkedIn accounts:

  • Residential proxies — Use a proxy that matches the geographic location of your LinkedIn account

  • Anti-detect browsers — Tools like Multilogin, GoLogin, or AdsPower create unique browser fingerprints for each account

  • Consistent IP — Avoid switching between different IP addresses frequently

3. One Account Per Browser Profile

Never log into multiple LinkedIn accounts from the same browser profile. Each LinkedIn account should have its own dedicated browser profile with its own proxy.

Safe Daily Limits (After Warmup)

Once warmup is complete, these are the recommended safe limits for daily LinkedIn activity:

Action

Profile Visits

40–60/day

60–80/day

Connection Requests

10–15/day

20–30/day

Messages

40–60/day

60–100/day

Important: Free LinkedIn accounts have hard limits of 2 connection requests/day and 10 messages/day enforced by SalesMind AI to protect your account.

Restricted Activities to Avoid

Even with warmup and safe limits, avoid these behaviors that can trigger LinkedIn restrictions:

  • Sending identical messages — Always personalize your outreach

  • Mass connecting without context — Include a note explaining why you're connecting

  • Running campaigns 24/7 — Set business hours in your agent settings

  • Ignoring LinkedIn warnings — If LinkedIn shows a CAPTCHA or warning, pause all activity immediately

  • Scraping profiles aggressively — This is why warmup disables prospect profile enhancement

Outreach & Messaging Best Practices

  • Personalize every message — Reference the prospect's role, company, or recent activity

  • Space out your follow-ups — Wait at least 3–5 days between messages

  • Keep messages short — Under 300 characters for connection notes, 2–3 sentences for InMails

  • A/B test your messaging — Use SalesMind AI's campaign variants to find what resonates

  • Respect "Not Interested" — Remove prospects who decline from future sequences

What to Do

1. Setup

Day 0

Complete your LinkedIn profile, connect your account to SalesMind AI, enable Warmup

2. Warmup

Days 1–14

Let SalesMind AI gradually increase your limits. Engage manually with your feed (like, comment) to build trust signals

3. Soft Launch

Days 15–21

Disable warmup, set conservative manual limits (50% of max). Launch your first campaign targeting a small, high-quality list

4. Scale

Day 22+

Gradually increase limits toward the safe maximums. Monitor acceptance rates and adjust

Troubleshooting

  • Sliders are greyed out? — Warmup is enabled and managing your limits. This is normal. Disable warmup to regain manual control.

  • Limits seem very low? — Warmup starts with low limits on purpose. They'll increase every 4 days automatically.

  • Account got restricted during warmup? — Pause all activity for 24–48 hours, then re-enable warmup. If restrictions persist, contact support.

  • Warmup finished but limits feel too high? — Disable warmup and set your own conservative limits. You don't have to use the maximums.

Summary

Account warmup is one of the most important steps for safe LinkedIn automation. Always warm up new or recently restricted accounts before running outreach campaigns. The 14-day automated warmup in SalesMind AI handles the technical details — just enable it and let it run. Once warmup completes, transition to manual limits within the safe ranges for your account type.
